  UES is a pleasant and absolutely tiny ice cream shop in the Upper East Side.
  
  Service was friendly and quick.  
  
  The ice cream was good!
  
  I tried a honey lavender scoop and a cookie dough scoop and threw on Reese's Pieces for good measure.

  The dress code is strict, and the lounge area is stuffy and crowded.
  
  Drinks/
  The drinks I had ranged from pretty good to bad, and they were all expensive ($15-25). While this is an average price for a cocktail in NYC, my expectations for the flavor were set a bit higher. The presentation of the drinks were great, I just wish they had a bit more substance.
  
  Ambience/
  The service was good for the most part, but there was one waiter that kind of just stared at me when I was trying to get his attention. Then he just walked away. If it weren't for another waiter that graciously helped find my friend's credit card, I would give this place 2 stars. Turns out, the waiter never brought our card to begin with, just the receipt, and left it at the bar. Seating is limited, but we were there on Friday night so it might be better at other times.
  
  Overall, I think the hype is what's building this place. The game to find the speakeasy is thinly guised, and fun for a night, but I'm not thinking much more than that. I could see UES being fun for a date who hasn't been there before.

  This place isn't recommended at all if you wanna have fun with friends. I was barhopping throughout the city with my girlfriend and a good friend of mine. We wanted to check UES for a while, so we went by. First, I ordered ice cream, then I asked the worker to show me the "storage room". Get this, we all are deaf, so I clearly pointed at the back door. The worker barely looked at our clothes. We were dressed nice, we wore nice tops and black jeans/shorts. Yes, my friend had black Nikes. My girlfriend wore vans and I wore black toms. So, the worker was like "no" and I asked why? He said, "sneakers". We came all the way uptown... okay so we walked out. We were utterly disappointed. Two minutes later, we saw a couple walking out of the "storage room", the guy was wearing a beat down old pair of Nikes. I was pissed off, so why was he allowed inside, not us?
  
  We wouldn't go back and try again. Bye

  What a terrible experience.  I am writing this from the Russian Tea Room since they wouldn't let me and my friends in.  We were told there is a "uniform requirement" of no sneakers. Granted I do have on white chucks that aren't dirty and my friend has on commes de garçon sneakers. My other friend has on a t shirt black pants and Nikes.
  
  Two behind us got in... wearing sneakers.
  
  My friend went back in and the associate said the lady "was going to change her shoes." I asked how she knew the girl even had other shoes and why she didn't make her change upstairs, and she said "well someone picked her up." LIKE WHAT?
  
  It doesn't seem right to not let us three in  and turn around let people in with sneakers
  
  I won't be going here again or recommending any one to go. If you need a list of speakeasy where your choice of clothing won't be a problem DM me.

  I honestly wanted to give this place zero stars. I will give 2 as it is a great idea just poorly executed.
  
  Was having dinner in the area with friends and we decided to stop by to see what is all the hype about it. At first we got a bit side tracked by the ice cream counter and decided to get a scoop before going in. It was probably the best idea, we have some solid people watching.
  
  The ice cream attendant/ "bouncer" (??) has a huge attitude as he was at some high end lounge in Meat Packing. Dude, sorry to disappoint but you are not...you need to scale down your attitude by a lot. We get it the "storage" has a dress code but there are ways and ways of enforcing and in the end of the day is not some A listers spot.
  
  Anyway, back to my ICE CREAM review - I tried the Blueberry Honey Lavender and Salted Caramel. It was good, just good maybe average for the $5 price tag it comes with.
  
  After our ice cream we went down to the "storage room"  hidden behind a door covered by 180 empty ice cream cartons is "Storage," a secret bar inspired by ones found during the Prohibition era. The atmosphere of the shop quickly changes as you leave the cheerful scoop shop and enter the dimly lit Storage Room (AKA hidden bar)
  
  Now the update everyone is waiting for!!!
  
  Ladies and Gentleman's, who have been turned down from this place, save your tears as you didn't miss much. It is just a dark, lacking in ventilation, overly hyped bar. Go to Auction house and you will have just as much fun, if not more and skip all the door BS
